Several years ago I was working during the Christmas season at a place that I love.  However, there was a thorn in my side that worked there as well.  She took it up on herself to be the boss.  One day she came and corrected me about something that had nothing to do with her business.  She said to me, “They are talking about you and THEY are saying………………..blah, blah, blah.”  The response that came up out of me was I did not know anyone named they worked here.” So often people say to you what they want said and tell you they are saying it. Once I recovered I really got a chuckle out of it.

BEING OUT OF PLACE WITH WORDS

My real boss saw her come to me but did not know what happened.  So she asked if I needed to talk to her.  We were able to go to a private place and I told her about it.  She laughed so hard.  She got so tickled she reared back in her chair and howled.

By the way I did not avoid the disgruntled one but gave her a lovely gift. Her heart turned toward me and she thought I should continue on the job forever.  The real boss was in harmony with that too.

Proverbs 25:11 says, “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.”

Isaiah 50:4 says, “The Lord God has given me the tongue of the learned, that I may know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: He awaketh morning by morning, he awaketh mine ear to hear as the learned.”

LISTEN AND DISCERN

Listen to people, what are they really saying?  Do not feel paranoid about every little thing but listen.  So often people speak things that are not even true but it is the way they perceive it.  Not everything said to you or about you is true.  The perception of someone else is not always accurate.  Sometimes to reflect back to them what they just said to you is the best way to help them see what they are saying.  Are you saying……………..?

I have no idea why I am writing this way today as I had an article already written but this is how the Holy Spirit is leading. Did this speak to you today?  If so please take the time to comment.

PRAYER: Set a guard on my mouth O Lord.  Help me to speak the truth in love to those around me. Help me to be beneficial in my speech to those listening.  Help me to perceive correctly words that pertain to my life. I ask for wisdom in all the affairs of my life.   As I deal with the upcoming holidays help me to be gracious, loving and receptive to those who need my peace in Jesus Name.  AMEN!

CONFESSION: I confess I say the right words at the right time to bless those around me.  When I go to the market place I discern those situations that need my peace.  I lift up the King of Kings to my family, my friends and associates.  I am pleasant, loving and caring.  I will not carry burdens on me to perform outside of my ability.  I listen and yield to the Holy Spirit today.  HALLELUJAH!
